Responding and Commenting on Transmittals

Depending how the issuer configured the transmittal, either you are required to send responses to documents in the transmittal packages, or you are not required to respond at all, but you may still reply with comments if you like. Some recipients may be required to respond to a transmittal, while other recipients are not required to respond to the same transmittal.

When a recipient is required to respond, each document in the transmittal package requires a response. Specific response options are provided, such as Approved, Approved with Comments, or Rejected. You can send a response for each document in the package one at a time, or you can send all of your responses at once. If there are any master documents in the package, you only need to send a response for the master document; there is no option to respond to each individual reference.

Whether responding or commenting, you can send attachments along with your response or your comment. These attachments will be stored in ProjectWise in the project from which the transmittal was issued.

Once you send a response to a document, the issuer receives an email notification about it, and the document is then locked to you from sending further responses (unless the issuer later unlocks the response in ProjectWise).

Once you have sent responses for all the documents in the package, you are done with this transmittal. You can continue to view the overall status and progress of the transmittal through the portal.
