To Send a Response for a Single Document in a Transmittal

  1. If necessary, browse to the transmittal containing the document you want to send a response for.
  2. If you have not done so already, acknowledge the transmittal now.

You cannot send responses until you have acknowledged receipt of the transmittal. You can, however, send responses without downloading the package.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • Click the Respond button next to this transmittal in the project's transmittal index.
    • Click the Respond button on the individual transmittal properties page.

    The My response tab opens.

  4. Click the document in the list you want to send a response for.

The document is expanded so you can select a response option, comment, and attach files to the response.

  5. In the Response list, select a response from the options provided.

    For example, Approved with Comments.

Note: You must select a response option to enable the Comment field and Browse button below. You can also set the response back to Response pending, if you decide you are not ready to send a response.
  6. Optional: In the Comment field, enter a brief comment to send back to the issuer about your response.
  7. Optional: Click the Browse button to attach files to this response.
Note: Your selected response option, your comments, and any files you attach to the response are automatically saved as you work. If you decide you are not ready to send your response now, you can safely navigate away from this page, or even log off, and the entries you make now will be available when you return.
  8. When you are finished preparing your response for this document, click Send responses.
  9. Click Confirm when prompted.

Your response is sent, and the issuer of the transmittal will receive an email notification about it. This document is now locked to you from sending further responses (unless the issuer later unlocks the response in ProjectWise), and is moved to the bottom of the list in the My response tab accordingly.

Tip: Now that you know how to send a response, you can go to the My response tab directly the next time you want to send a response, you do not need to click the Respond buttons first. They simply take you where you need to go in order to respond.
